The classic character hits the big screen in this awesome, epic film. It”s visually and mentally stunning. This film will keep your brain working from the opening scene to the very end. It”s a little tough to pick up on exactly what is happening at the start, but every seam ties itself up as the film progresses, and once you catch on, its brilliant, its one of the smartest films I’ve seen in awhile. Sherlock and Watson are the two of the most clever men to hit the screen this/last year, they are hilarious together, finishing each others thoughts. There is always fun banter back and forth, they are the perfect pair. This film is funny, scary, and downright tense. There are some great scenes that set you on the edge of your seat, like the butcher shop, those of you who have seen this already, (most probably have, its been out awhile, I’m kinda late on this) know what I’m talking about. The special effects guys did a great job turning the clocks back on the city of London, making everything look classic, I really loved how they used the “under construction” London Bridge in the film. The acting was fantastic, Robert Downey Jr. is unstoppable, he can do no wrong, and he follows that up in “Holmes”, hes very clever, very funny, and hits the accent just right. Jude Law is also equally as awesome, He accents Holmes very well, I can think of no one that could play Watson better. All in all, “Sherlock Holmes” is a great, exciting film, that everybody should see, its an instant action/crime classic that will last over the years. “Sherlock Holmes” won a Golden Globe for best actor in Robert Downey Jr.
